My Australian friend gushes about Cadel Evans as if there weren’t a million Europeans on the podium prior.

This is the bike that propelled Cadel to an astonishing victory in the 2011 Tour de France…

The Teammachine is the penultimate all-round bicycle in BMC’s line. Perfectly suitable climbing the cols of France and the being chased by the peloton. BMC calls their frame technology: “Tuned Compliance Concept”, I call it good-enough-to-win the Tour de France. Source »

I am happy for Cadel Evans winning his first tour. As for Frank and Andy, donappiisted. Their dream will not be realized until they both WAKE UP ! Time Trialing is where it’s at .Andy should have two tour wins already under his belt if not a possible third. It shouldn’t have mattered last year whether or not he dropped his chain in that mountain stage when Contador attacked him the fact of the matter is Andy lost because of the lack of his Time Trialing skills. I’ve been watching the tour since 1985 when Greg LeMond’s chances of winning his first tour were stolen and given to teamate Benard Hinault. Every Yellow Jersey winner since 1985 which include the likes of LeMond, Roche, Delgado, Indura’in, Riis, Ulrich, Pantani, Armstrong, Landis/Pereiro, Contador, Sastre and now Evans, were and are all exceptionally strong climbers and I quote time trialists particularily LeMond, Indura’in and Armstrong. They all knew that it took way more than just climbing skills to win the Tour.

This is a blog about finding & sharing the gear that freakishly good cyborgs humans use to achieve awesomeness. The rest of us can at least look the part and dream. Thanks to Bindle for the collages we use here.
